1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the websites and services of Find Angel Inc. ("FindAngel," "we," "us"), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. BY ACCESSING OR USING OUR WEBSITES OR SERVICES, YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS OF USE. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT USE OUR WEBSITES OR SERVICES. Angel's welcome screen links to these Terms before your first message; continuing to chat after that notice constitutes your acceptance of these Terms.

These Terms apply to all websites owned or operated by Find Angel Inc., including findangel.org, findangel.com, findangel.net, findangel.us, findangel.ai, findangel.co, findangel.info, findangels.org, findangels.net, findangels.us, fineangel.org, guard.life, and related versions on other domains.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Who we are — and what we are not

Find Angel Inc. is a volunteer-run nonprofit. What we do is simple: we collect and share practical, real-world experience — what many ordinary people tried for everyday problems like money stress, home life, habits, and feeling stuck — as short videos, articles, and a searchable library. We also maintain an information-and-referral directory that points to real-world help, we offer Angel, an AI listening companion, and we provide simple self-guided exercises. Some of our volunteers also serve on crisis lines; that experience shapes how we write and how much we care — it does not make this website a crisis service.

What we are not:

When someone needs a human, professional help, or crisis support, our role is to point the way — never to provide it: to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, to emergency services, and to the organizations in our directory.

3. Nature of the information we provide

ALL CONTENT ON OUR WEBSITES IS PROVIDED FOR GENERAL INFORMATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. OUR SERVICES ARE NOT, AND ARE NOT INTENDED TO BE, A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL HEALTH CARE, MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT, PSYCHIATRIC CARE, THERAPY, MEDICAL ADVICE, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT OF ANY KIND — NOR FOR LEGAL OR FINANCIAL ADVICE. YOUR USE OF OUR WEBSITES OR SERVICES DOES NOT CREATE A THERAPIST–PATIENT, DOCTOR–PATIENT, ATTORNEY–CLIENT, OR ANY OTHER PROFESSIONAL OR CONFIDENTIAL RELATIONSHIP.

Never disregard professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read or heard through our services. Do not use our content to diagnose or treat any condition. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your doctor or 911 immediately.

Our tips and answers are distilled from large numbers of publicly shared, real-world experiences and are generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence, working under editorial rules written and audited by human volunteers; pages touching crisis, abuse, medical, or checkable factual territory are individually reviewed by a human volunteer before publication. They reflect what other people report tried and found helpful — they are shared experience, not professional advice. They may contain errors, may be incomplete, and may not fit your circumstances. Where our pages note what a community "warns about," those cautions are themselves shared experience, not professional guidance.

4. Angel — our AI listening companion

Angel is an automated artificial-intelligence program made for everyday weights — a hard day, money stress, feeling stuck or alone. Angel is not a human, and we design Angel to tell you so. Angel is not a crisis service. Angel is a listening companion; it is not a counselor or therapist, does not provide therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not overseen by a licensed clinician during your conversation.

Angel has limitations. Among other things, Angel:

Conversations with Angel are not legally privileged or confidential in the sense that conversations with a licensed professional can be. We have designed Angel so that we do not store, read, or use your conversations (see our Privacy Policy); even so, you should avoid sharing information that identifies you or others.

We maintain a safety protocol under which Angel is designed to respond to expressions of suicidal thoughts or self-harm in one way: by pointing to real human help, including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. A plain-language description of this protocol is published at /about/angel.

You agree to use Angel in good faith, not to rely on it for decisions affecting your health, safety, finances, or legal matters, and not to attempt to manipulate it into producing harmful content. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER FIND ANGEL INC. NOR ANY OF ITS EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, OR AGENTS IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OUTCOMES OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.

5. Self-guided exercises

Pages like our breathing and grounding exercises are simple, self-guided calming tools of the kind found in general-wellness apps. They are provided for educational and self-reflection purposes only; they are not treatment, therapy, or diagnostic instruments, and they are not monitored by anyone. If an exercise feels wrong for you — for example because of a breathing or heart condition — stop, go at your own pace, and follow the guidance of your own health professionals.

6. Emergencies — what our services cannot do

Our services cannot provide immediate intervention or crisis support. An emergency includes, without limitation: thoughts of harming yourself or others; severe emotional distress; feeling out of control or disconnected from reality; severe panic; acute reactions to trauma; severe symptoms of depression, psychosis, mania, substance withdrawal, or an eating disorder; or any life-threatening situation.

If any of these apply, do not use our services for help. Instead: call or text 988; call 911 or your local emergency number; go to the nearest emergency room; contact your mental-health provider or their emergency line; or reach out to a trusted person near you.

By using our services, you agree to seek appropriate professional or emergency care when needed and not to rely on our services for crisis intervention.

7. Risks of relying on general information

Relying solely on general informational resources like ours carries risks, including: delayed access to professional care; misapplication of general information to your specific situation; a false sense of improvement while underlying issues remain unaddressed; and missed opportunities for early professional intervention. We strongly encourage anyone experiencing mental-health symptoms — even mild ones — to consult a qualified professional. Our services are a complement to, never a replacement for, professional care.

8. Assumption of risk

You assume all risk arising from your use of our websites and services, including any decisions you make or actions you take (or do not take) based on information obtained through them. Find Angel Inc. and its volunteers, employees, and agents are not responsible for such decisions or their outcomes, including decisions to seek or not seek professional care or to modify or discontinue treatment.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use our services for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems; interfere with, disable, or overburden our websites or the systems serving them; scrape or harvest content or data at scale or in violation of these Terms; misrepresent an affiliation with FindAngel or impersonate our services; use our services to generate or spread content that encourages self-harm, harms others, or promotes dangerous practices; or resell or commercially exploit our services.

10. Feedback and submissions

We do not host user accounts or public posting. If you send us feedback, suggestions, or corrections (for example by emailing us), you grant Find Angel Inc. a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them for any purpose, without obligation or compensation, and you represent that you have the right to share what you send.

11. Intellectual property

The content, design, software, and other materials on our websites are owned by Find Angel Inc. or used with permission, and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws to the fullest extent permitted.

We want this help to travel. You may view, share, link to, and print our pages for personal, non-commercial use — that's what the share and print buttons are for. Any other reproduction, distribution, or creation of derivative works requires our prior written permission. You may not present our content within a frame or in a way that misrepresents its source. The FindAngel name and logo may not be used — including in ways that suggest affiliation or endorsement, or to imitate our websites or services — without our written permission.

12. Third-party resources, links, and embedded content

Our resource directory is an information-and-referral aid: it lists real-world organizations, what they say they do, and when a volunteer last checked the entry. The organizations listed are independent of Find Angel Inc.; we do not operate, control, or endorse them, and we cannot accept responsibility for any services they provide or fail to provide. Hours, phone numbers, eligibility, and services change without notice — verify before you rely on or travel to any listed resource.

More generally, our websites link to third-party websites and services and may embed videos hosted on third-party platforms. We do not guarantee third parties' accuracy, availability, safety, or suitability. Your use of third-party websites and services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

13. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

YOUR USE OF OUR WEBSITES AND SERVICES, INCLUDING ANGEL, IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. OUR WEBSITES, SERVICES, AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS," "WITH ALL FAULTS," AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT OUR SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT, OR THAT OUR SERVICES WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR EXPECTATIONS.

14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FIND ANGEL INC. AND ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AGENTS, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS (COLLECTIVELY, THE "FIND ANGEL ENTITIES") WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY, DEATH, LOSS, OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND — INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY, OR INCREASED COSTS — RESULTING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, RELIANCE ON, OR INABILITY TO USE OUR WEBSITES, SERVICES, OR CONTENT, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, THE FIND ANGEL ENTITIES SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIM ALL LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO ANGEL AND OUR INFORMATIONAL SERVICES, INCLUDING: DECISIONS MADE BASED ON INTERACTIONS WITH ANGEL OR OUR CONTENT; EMOTIONAL DISTRESS OR WORSENING OF ANY CONDITION; INACCURATE, INCOMPLETE, OR INAPPROPRIATE INFORMATION OR RESPONSES; MISUNDERSTANDINGS OR MISCOMMUNICATION; SERVICE UNAVAILABILITY OR DELAY; FAILURE TO IDENTIFY OR REPORT POTENTIAL HARM; RELAPSE OR RECURRENCE OF ANY CONDITION; ANY FAILURE TO DIAGNOSE (OUR SERVICES DO NOT DIAGNOSE); OUTCOMES OF FOLLOWING GENERAL INFORMATION; ACTIONS OF THIRD PARTIES, INCLUDING THIRD-PARTY RESOURCES WE LINK TO; AND FINANCIAL LOSSES FROM DECISIONS BASED ON OUR CONTENT.

APPLICABLE LAW MAY NOT ALLOW CERTAIN EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU; IN SUCH CASES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR DISSATISFACTION WITH OUR SERVICES IS TO STOP USING THEM. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THESE LIMITATIONS ARE FUNDAMENTAL ELEMENTS OF THE BASIS OF THE BARGAIN BETWEEN YOU AND FIND ANGEL INC., AND THAT WE COULD NOT PROVIDE FREE SERVICES WITHOUT THEM.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Find Angel Entities from and against all claims, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: your breach of these Terms or applicable law; your violation of any rights of another; your decisions, actions, or inactions based on information obtained through our services; and your misuse of our services, including use of Angel for emergencies or as a substitute for professional care. This obligation survives termination of these Terms. We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defense of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense.

16. Disputes and governing law

Talk to us first. Most concerns can be resolved quickly and informally — write to admin@findangel.org, and you agree to give us sixty (60) days to try to resolve any dispute informally before filing a claim.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under or relating to these Terms or our services will be litigated exclusively in the state and federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, any claim must be filed within one (1) year after it arises or be forever barred; this period is paused (tolled) during the sixty-day informal-resolution window above. Nothing in this section limits either party's right to seek equitable relief to protect intellectual-property rights. If you access our services from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

17. Children and age

Our websites provide general informational content for a general audience. We operate no accounts and no profiles, and we do not ask anyone — including children — for personal information; the little we can receive (such as a message you choose to email us) is described in our Privacy Policy. As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, Find Angel Inc. is generally not subject to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act; our services are nevertheless not directed to children under 13.

Angel and our chat features are intended for ages 13 and up. By chatting with Angel, you confirm that you are 13 or older. If you are under 13, please don't use the chat — and please know that the resources on our support page, including calling or texting 988, are there for everyone, and a trusted adult can help you reach them.

18. Termination; general terms

We may block or terminate access to our services at any time, for any reason, including to protect our services or their users. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including Sections 8 and 13–16) survive termination.

We will not be liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war or civil unrest, labor disruptions, utility or telecommunications failures, epidemics, changes in law, or cyberattacks.

If any provision of these Terms is held unlawful or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Find Angel Inc. regarding our services. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with our operations. Headings are for convenience only. In case of conflict regarding data practices, the Privacy Policy prevails.

Accessibility

We design our websites to meet WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards, and holding that bar matters to us — the people we most want to reach are often the people the web serves worst. If you encounter a barrier, please tell us at info@findangel.org; we will make reasonable efforts to fix it or to get you the content another way.

Notifications of claimed copyright infringement under 17 U.S.C. § 512 should be sent to the contact address below.
